An eyewitness, Chris, who took the pictures at No 1 Ngwa road junction, Aba, said the protesters seem to have set a traffic post on fire and are currently barricading the area and setting tires and stuffs ablaze.
Another online report stated that "Soldiers of the 144 Battalion of the Nigerian Army reportedly opened fire on members of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) during a protest in Aba, Abia State and shot a man dead."
Following the violent clash between IPOB members and security officers, local markets, schools and Banks have all been closed down in the commercial city of Abia state.
The Biafra Herald which also shared the above photo showing a man in his pool of blood wrote, "We have paid with our blood. Never shall we go back, never!!! we shall continue this protest. Our blood is flowing everywhere in the street of Nigeria.
"They have killed our brothers and sisters; we are being killed for asking for our freedom. Intimidation and killing of our people will not stop our protest and quest to get Biafra.
